The current KHANTA installer, plus what changed in each release. If a new version ever doesn't work for you, previous versions are listed below so you can go back.
Current — v0.6.1
August 2026
Download for WindowsWindows only, VST3 + Standalone. Not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may flag it the first run — the installer explains what to do.
What changed
v0.6.1August 2026
- •Fixed: selecting a Master Preset now actually moves the Low Cut / High Cut sliders on Character and Atmosphere — they were changing the real sound correctly before, they just weren't visually updating on screen
- •Fixed: a Master Preset saved before Low Cut / High Cut existed now resets those to their default position when applied, instead of silently leaving them wherever they happened to be
- •All 48 built-in stock presets (every one except the Artist preset) got a researched Low Cut / High Cut adjustment matched to their own genre and style, instead of a handful of generic placeholder values
Previous versions
Kept here in case a new release ever regresses something for you. Older versions can be missing fixes that later releases include — check the known-issues list before rolling back.
v0.6.0August 2026
No longer available for download- •If you already updated to 0.5.0, install this too — an earlier 0.5.0 build went out before two features below were finished, and this is the complete version with everything included
- •Texture and Motion each gain a new Intensity knob alongside the existing knob (now labeled Dry/Wet) — Intensity adds real, continuously variable character across all 6 underlying engines, off by default so an untouched module stays a true bypass
- •Soundboard: Overlap and Queue retrigger modes are now genuinely functional — Overlap layers up to 8 simultaneous voices per pad instead of cutting itself off, Queue plays one at a time with up to 8 pending, back-to-back
- •Soundboard: new PLAY/PAUSE mode — pause a pad mid-clip and resume from the exact spot, alongside the existing TOGGLE mode (which still restarts fresh each time it's turned back on)
- •Soundboard: every pad now shows a playback-progress bar along its bottom edge, so you can see how far into a clip you are at a glance
- •Fixed: Hotkey Learn now works correctly on soundboard pads (MIDI and mouse/touch triggering were unaffected)
v0.5.0August 2026
No longer available for download- •Texture and Motion each gain a new Intensity knob alongside the existing knob (now labeled Dry/Wet) — Intensity adds real, continuously variable character across all 6 underlying engines, off by default so an untouched module stays a true bypass
- •Soundboard: Overlap and Queue retrigger modes are now genuinely functional — Overlap layers up to 8 simultaneous voices per pad instead of cutting itself off, Queue plays one at a time with up to 8 pending, back-to-back
- •Fixed: Hotkey Learn now works correctly on soundboard pads (MIDI and mouse/touch triggering were unaffected)
Known issues in this version, fixed in later releases:
- •An earlier 0.5.0 build (before Play/Pause and the playback-progress bar were finished) may have been installed by some testers between Aug 24–26 — 0.6.0 is the complete build with those included; the in-app update checker will prompt correctly to move from either 0.5.0 build to 0.6.0
v0.4.0August 2026
Download v0.4.0- •Instrument's Preamp stage rebuilt as a real amp-sim (Gain/Bass/Mid/Treble/Level) in place of the old single-knob Pre-Gain
- •Instrument Reverb completely redesigned around a 6-knob layout — Algorithm, Decay, Mix, and three Param knobs whose job changes per algorithm — with 9 algorithms to choose from: Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Shimmer, Cloud, and three brand-new ones, Bloom, Swell, and Lofi
- •Instrument's EQ and Preamp buttons now double as bypass switches — left-click mutes that stage instantly, right-click still opens its full page — with larger, clearer button text
- •Control's Compressor: setting Compression to 0 is now a genuine full bypass instead of a very-light compression floor
v0.3.0August 2026
Download v0.3.0- •New always-on Safety Limiter — a true brick-wall ceiling at the very end of the signal chain, fixing distortion on loud material that previously had nothing catching it
- •Control's Compressor rebuilt from the ground up: a 3-detector fusion engine that reacts to transients and sustained material differently, plus mode-aware Color saturation so each of the 7 modes now has its own character
- •New 7th Compressor mode, Silk — a smooth, low-saturation mode built for intimate and close-mic vocals
- •All 49 stock master presets recalibrated against the new Compressor curve math, so every preset still hits the exact same compression ratio it was originally tuned for
v0.2.0August 2026
Download v0.2.0- •Instrument EQ now has its own save/load presets, and switching categories no longer discards your unsaved tweaks
- •Stage redesigned: Pads, Vocal Effects, Atmosphere, and Instrument each get their own dedicated space instead of sharing room
- •Soundboard: Clear now fully resets a pad immediately — file, playback mode, and gain all return to defaults, no relaunch needed
- •Hotkey Learn: two different controls can now share the same key and both fire, instead of only the first one responding
- •License key is hidden by default on Settings → License, with a Show/Hide toggle, so it's not exposed on camera during tutorials or streams
- •In-app update notifications — the version you're reading this on
v0.1.0August 2026
No longer available for download- •Initial tester release.
Known issues in this version, fixed in later releases:
- •Soundboard's Clear action didn't fully reset a pad until relaunching KHANTA
- •Two controls bound to the same hotkey — only the first one fired
- •Instrument EQ had no way to save presets, and switching categories silently discarded unsaved adjustments
